IADC RigPass® is a standardized safety orientation program for all oil and gas operations, whether onshore or offshore, that is independently audited and accredited. The RigPass® curriculum is required by most oilfield operators and contractors before you are able to work within the industry. It provides you with a basic safety awareness and orientation for oilfield worksites and hazards. Check with your employer before taking the curriculum to make sure you are complying with their specific hiring requirements.
As of December 2020 Safegulf will no longer exist. SafeLandUSA is no longer an Operator-led committee and has been privatized and incorporated into SafeLand, Inc. In this new governance structure, SafeLand, Inc. has made accrediting bodies founding members and has excluded some of the SafeLandUSA founding industry organizations from holding a board seat. There is a new proposed financial structure to obtain membership fees to participate on the board. The board will no longer be chaired and led by an industry volunteer. Instead, an Executive Director is to be hired and funded by the members and/or accrediting bodies.
IADC is not supporting the newly incorporated SafeLand, Inc. It will not issue SafeLand endorsements after December 31 2020. IADC Rig Pass will issue a Land Endorsement for onshore workers. This Rig Pass curriculum exceeds the training requirements of the current SafeLand curriculum. IADC does support eLearning delivery of the Rig Pass course time.
